Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Vernon Uhran:

In 2005, Vernon Uhran was involved in five lawsuits alleging sexual abuse. The Dioceses of Orlando and St. Augustine agreed to pay $1.5 million to the men to settle lawsuits pertaining to sexual assaults that allegedly occurred during summer camp in the 1960s.

Two of the victims claimed that the Diocese knew of abuse in 1969 and did nothing except transfer Uhran. Uhran was removed from the ministry in 1992 after allegations of sexual assault surfaced. In 2010, another case was filed against Uhran. He is listed on the Diocese of Orlando’s 2020 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
