Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father William Maslar:

Not much is known about Father William Maslar’s history in the Diocese of Allentown. His name was included in the Diocese of Allentown’s August 2018 list of credibly accused priests, but no details about the allegation (or allegations) were provided by the Diocese.  Maslar was not discussed in the August 2018 grand jury report.

Notably, the Diocese of Allentown does not state that the allegation(s) against Maslar were received after his death, which is a qualification given for the overwhelming amount of credibly accused deceased priests contained on the list. This suggests to us that the allegation was received prior his retirement/removal in 2002 and he was included in the flurry of priests removed in 2002 following the scandal in the Archdiocese of Boston.
