Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father William Wood:

Fr. William Wood was a Jesuit priest ordained in 1965. During his years of active ministry, Wood served at the University of San Francisco, Bellarmine College Preparatory, Santa Clara University, and Verbum Dei High in Los Angeles, California. He also served as Executive Director of the California Catholic Conference in Sacramento for several years.

The Diocese of Sacramento reported that allegations were made in 2002, stating Wood sexually abused a minor in 2002. In 2002, Wood was assigned to Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles, California and then he left to go to Sacred Heart Jesuit Center. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including the victim’s age/gender, are unknown. 

In 2018, Wood was named publicly as accused by the Jesuits West Province. Wood died in 2014 while in the Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California.

He also served as Executive Director of the California Catholic Conference in Sacramento for several years.
