Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Bishop Anthony Bosco:

Bishop Anthony Bosco was ordained a priest in 1952, who served in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. According to media reports, in September 2018, a sexual misconduct allegation was reported to the Allegheny County district attorney’s office against the late Bishop Anthony Bosco. The incident dates back to the 1960’s, when Bosco was a priest with the title of monsignor.

The complaint alleges that Bishop Bosco inappropriately touched a nursing student while he was a Chaplain and instructor at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. The diocese said that this was the first and only allegation made against Bishop Bosco. It was not contained in the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report, although he was criticized in that report for complicit silence involving other accused priests

Bishop Anthony Bosco has been included on the Diocese of Pittsburgh’s 2019 list of clergy against whom allegations have been made. He falls under the category of clergy who were deceased when an allegation was first made against them.

Bishop Bosco died in July 2013 at the age of 85.
