Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Robert J. Winterkorn:

In 1993, Father Robert J. Winterkorn resigned from his position at St. John the Evangelist Church in Spencerport after allegations of abuse surfaced against the priest.  Winterkorn admitted to a long-term sexual relationship with an adult female parishioner that began when she was a minor.

Upon receipt of the accusations, the Diocese of Rochester removed Winterkorn’s privileges. After canonical process, he was assigned to a life of prayer and penance per a 2012 notice from the diocese.
