Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Vincent Jerome:

Brother Vincent Jerome was a member of the Marist religious congregation and served in the Archdiocese of Newark. He served as teacher in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, as well as abroad, in Japan. According to media reports, in 2011, a lawsuit was settled which alleged that Brother Jerome repeatedly beat and sexually abused a 10-year-old boy while he was a teacher at St Vincent’s Orphanage. He would sit next to the boy while watching television, cover him with a blanket and then reach under his pajamas to fondle his penis. At night, similar abuse occurred in the boys’ dormitory. If the boy resisted, he and the whole dormitory would be severely punished, according to the suit. This and at least one more lawsuit alleging child sexual abuse by Brother Jerome were settled.

Brother Jerome was last known to be living at a Marist Retirement Residence in Miami, Florida.
