Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Oliver J. Smalls:

According to media reports, in February 2019, while working in Belize, Father Oliver J. Smalls’ name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Richmond’s list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. He was immediately removed from public ministry in the Diocese of Belize City-Belmopan.

According to his attorney, the allegation was of child sexual abuse in 1970. Father Smalls denied the allegation. He worked at the Virginia Home for Boys for eight months in 1975.

In August 2019, he filed a defamation lawsuit against the Diocese of Richmond. He reportedly left the country and his current whereabouts are unknown.
