Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Christopher Berbena:

Fr. Christopher Berbena was ordained a Franciscan priest in 1980, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was named in a 2008 lawsuit of sexually abusing a child in 1980 at St. Anthony Seminary in Santa Barbara. Fr. Berbena was working in Oakland when he was placed on leave and then returned to duty within one month when the Archdiocese could not supply information on the accuser.

Fr. Berbena was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. It is believed he may be living in San Leandro, CA. His status as a priest and whether he has access to children are unknown.
