Summary of Abuse Allegations against Fr. Richard Hartman:

Fr. Richard Hartman served in multiple parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he was accused of sexually abusing at least one child in approximately 1958 to 1959 while working at Mission San Juan in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Fr. Hartman died in January 1965. He was named in at least one lawsuit. He was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors, as well as on the Diocese Orange County’s list. His personnel file was released in January 2013.
