Fr. Samuel Orellana Mendoza was ordained a priest in 1968 , who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 1987, he was accused of sexually abusing an underage female that same year while he worked at Sagrado Corazon in Compton. Church officials stated that there was no substantial evidence to remove Mendoza from the ministry. In 2003, he was named in a civil lawsuit and was included in the Archdiocese’s 2006 settlement with survivors of child sexual abuse.
Fr. Orellana was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. As of 2014, it was reported that Fr. Orellana Mendoza was residing in Winchester, CA. His status as a priest, current whereabouts, and whether he has access to children are unknown.
