Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Edward E. Shimmaly:

Father Edward Shimmaly was a military chaplain in the late 1960s to the early 1970s. He went on sick leave for many years. He moved to the Diocese of Boise by 1985 and later retired. He died in 1999. The Official Catholic Directory has him listed as Edward G. Shimmaly in Boise. According to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, he was accused of sexually abusing at least one child from 1961 to 1963 in a civil suit. His name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.
