Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Gerald Lyons:

Fr. Gerald Lyons was ordained a priest in approximately 1967 and served in the Diocese of Trenton. He is not indexed in the Official Catholic Directory after 1974. According to a list maintained by Bishop Accountability.org, he was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a girl when she was 4 to 5 years old from approximately 1964 to 1965.

At the time of the alleged sexual abuse, Lyons was assigned to St. Anthony’s Church in Trenton, New Jersey. The abuse occurred in the rectory affiliated with St. Anthony’s Church. Lyons reportedly would have the girl sit on his lap, and then he would reach into the front of her underwear, fondling her vagina.

The case was later settled in 2020 in the low six figures.
