Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Adrian Molenschot

On June 21, 2019, the Diocese of Alexandria added Fr. Adrian Molenschot to its list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. According to the report, the diocese learned Fr. Molenschot allegedly abused male minors after it published the list in February. The diocese said the incidents occurred in the 1960s. Fr. Adrian Molenschot Horowitz Law

The Permanent Review Board, which evaluates all allegations of clerical sexual misconduct involving minors, reviewed the evidence and determined the allegations were credible. Further details about the nature and scope of the alleged abuses are not publicly available.

Ordained in Holland in 1932, Fr. Adrian Molenschot moved to America and the Alexandria parish in 1947. In 1948, he became a Boy Scout Master, and in 1950, he became Scout Master of Troop 3 at Belledeau. News reports from the time indicate Fr. Molenschot lead the troop for 32 years.

After 1989, Fr. Molenschot retired and moved into Hessmer Nursing Home. He died December 7, 1994.
