Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father David Roll:
According to media reports, in October 2010, as part of a settlement with survivors of clergy sexual abuse, the Diocese of San Diego released Father David Roll’s personnel file. Notes were found of various child sexual abuse allegations in 1976, 1986-1987, through 1993 and 1994 and into 2002. The only information released was that at least two young girls had fallen victim to the priest.
In March 2007, Father Roll’s name appeared on the list of clergy credibly accused of child sexual abuse released by the Diocese of San Diego. It noted he has been “removed” from ministry. His faculties were withdrawn in 1986, and he was placed on medical leave that same year. He was documented at St. Luke’s during his leave and the Paraclete Center in 1987.
Father Roll was placed on disability retirement in 1993.
