Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Don Flickinger:
Father Don Flickinger was originally ordained a priest in 1964 for the Diocese of Fresno. He worked for two other dioceses throughout his career. According to media reports, in 2011, a civil lawsuit was filed alleging that he sexually abused a young boy at St. Paul Parish and School in the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
According to the lawsuit, Flickinger had a history of sexual misconduct dating all the way back to the early 1970’s. The lawsuit also claims that all three dioceses that he worked for, (Fresno, San Jose and San Francisco) were all aware of Don Flickinger’s sexual misconduct but failed to take any action against it.
Two additional lawsuits related to child sex abuse also named Father Don Flickinger. All three lawsuits were settled in 2013. That same year, the accused priest retired and is believed to be living in Los Banos at a residential living facility in the Diocese of San Jose.
