In 1946, Fr. Edmond G Cloutier was ordained for the Diocese of Portland, ME. In 1954, he became a priest of the San Francisco Archdiocese, and in 1962, Cloutier became a priest of the Oakland Diocese when it was created that year.
According to media reports, Cloutier was named and accused in civil lawsuits of molesting four boys at Star of the Sea in San Francisco, California in the mid-1950s. He was removed/retired in 1980.
In 2019, Cloutier was included on a list of priests in the Diocese of Oakland who was named as being “credibly accused” of child sex abuse, noting that abuse occurred in the 1950s-1960s.
Cloutier’s whereabouts and whether he had access to children between 1981-2003 are unknown.
Between 1995-2003, he lived at Bishop Begin Villa in Oakland, California. Bishop Begin Villa was a residence for retired priests.
Cloutier died in 2003.
