Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. James Clark:

Fr. James Clark was ordained a priest in 1984, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Greensburg. According to media reports, he was removed from ministry in June 2018 after the Diocese of Greensburg received an allegation that he sexually abused a child prior to becoming a priest.  According to the statement offered by the Diocese of Greensburg, the abuse allegedly occurred in the early 1970s when Clark worked as a janitor at St. James School in Apollo, Pennsylvania, before he entered the seminary.  The Diocese of Greensburg denies receiving any reports that Clark may have abused a minor during his priesthood.

In October 2018, the Diocese of Greensburg announced that the allegation was found to be credible and substantiated, and that the Bishop of Greensburg would not be returning Clark to ministry as a result. Clark was not identified or discussed in the 2018 grand jury report.  His name does appear on the Diocese of Greensburg’s list of priests with “credible and substantiated allegations” of sexual abuse.

Clark’s current location is unknown and has not been provided by the Diocese of Greensburg.
