Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father James M. Coyle:

In 1996, Fr. James M. Coyle was accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy over a five-year span in the 1980s while serving at St. Peter’s Church in DeLand, FL. According to the police report filed, the survivor claims that Coyle would ply boys with marijuana and alcohol and then abuse them. Fr. Coyle was removed from pastoral duties and reported to the police after allegations were made against him. He was also sent to treatment by the Diocese of Orlando. Fr. Coyle died in 2007.
