Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Joseph Puthenkandam:

Fr. Joseph Puthenkandam was a member of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in January 2013, his name was quietly added to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ “Final Addendum to the Report to the People of God” along with the names of twenty-three other predatory priests with credible evidence of sexual molestation.]

The Los Angeles Times reports that the 24 names were disclosed in a report posted on the archdiocese’s website along with 12,000 pages of internal records detailing how the church dealt with abuse claims. BishopAccountability.org, a non-profit group that researches and archives documents related to clergy sex abuse, originally uncovered the list and published the names of the suspected offenders.
