Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Richard Trezza:

Fr. Richard Trezza entered the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor in 1966. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1987. He served in multiple parishes in Connecticut and New Jersey in the Archdiocese of Newark.  According to media reports, for the first time in 2021, the Holy Name Province published a list of Franciscan friars with substantiated child sexual abuse and misconduct claims following a review of its files by an advisory firm. The Franciscan Friars Holy Name Province publicly named Fr. Richard Trezza on its list. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims and the nature of the alleged sexual abuse was not provided by the Franciscan Province.

Fr. Richard Trezza was removed from active ministry in 2012. His current whereabouts of are unknown.
