Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Robert Peguero:

A lawsuit was filed by two survivors in 1990, alleging that Fr. Robert H. Peguero, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Saint Barbara Province, sexually abused them in 1987, when he worked at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Santa Paula, California. The lawsuit also alleges the Franciscan Friars conspired to hide Peguero in Mexico, where he is still in ministry.

In 2019, Peguero was listed on the Franciscans’ Santa Barbara Province list and on the Oakland Diocese’s list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.
