Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Rodrigo Marciel Garcia:

Fr. Rodrigo Marciel Garcia was added to the Diocese of San Bernardino’s List of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor on March 4, 2021. According to the list, the alleged sexual abuse by Garcia occurred in 1996 but wasn’t reported to the Diocese and police until January 2020.

Very little is known of Rodrigo’s activities within the church as the Diocese of San Bernardino has not released any information about his assignment history. In addition, information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Rodrigo’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.

Garcia is permanently banned from ministry in the Diocese of San Bernardino and in his home Diocese of Atlacomulco, Mexico.
