Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Thomas Bettencourt:

In 2018, Fr. Thomas Bettencourt was included on the Diocese of San Jose list of priests who were named as being credibly accused of child sex abuse. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victims or the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.

It is only noted that there was a report received in 1997 against Bettencourt in reference to sexual misconduct with a child that took place in 1982 while he was assigned to St. Justin’s Parish in Santa Clara, California.

Bettencourt died in 1990.
