Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Thomas Bettencourt:

Fr. Thomas Bettencourt was ordained a priest in 1976, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of San Jose. According to media reports, in 2018, his name  was included on a list of priests in the Diocese of San Jose who was named as being credibly accused of child sex abuse. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victims or the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.

It is only noted that there was a report received in 1997 against Fr. Thomas Bettencourt in reference to sexual misconduct with a child that took place in 1982 while he was assigned to St. Justin’s Parish in Santa Clara, California. 

Bettencourt died in 1990.
