Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Timothy Johnson:

Fr. Timothy Johnson was ordained a Carmelite priest in 1983, who served in the Diocese of Allentown. According to media reports, in 2018, he was named publicly as accused in the PA Grand Jury report. It noted he was accused physically abusing a minor student in 1976 after the student was sexually assaulted by another priest, Fr. David Connell. The victim reported that the abuse occurred while he was attending Nativity High School in Pottsville, PA.

The victim claims in the Grand Jury Report released in 2018 that when he told Fr. Johnson he was going to report the abuse to the police, Johnson severely beat the victim with a large leather belt and said to him that if he did go through with the report, he would beat him even worse. The abuse was initially reported to the Provincial of the Carmelites in October 2007, but nothing was ever done.

Fr. Johnson left the Diocese of Allentown in 1976 and eventually settled in Florida. He died in 2016 at the age of 80.
