In 2006, Fr. Timothy Lane was accused of sexually abusing an 18-year-old girl at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Santa Maria just after graduating from high school. Fr. Lane was subsequently transferred to Missouri, but no criminal charges could be filed due to insufficient evidence.

According to the Official Catholic Directory, as of 2017, Fr. Lane was the Guestmaster at St. Joseph Seminary in Santa Maria, CA. Fr. Lane is listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2018 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
