Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Mr. Miguel Cala:

Mr. Miguel Cala was a music teacher at St. Andrew Catholic School in Coral Springs, Florida for over a decade. In 2010, he was accused of sexually abusing students at St. Andrew Catholic School and Cala was arrested.

In 2012, Cala was charged with molesting pre-teen boys he was tutoring at their home. He pled no contest to lewd and lascivious molestation charges and was sentenced to a 23-year prison term.

A new suit alleges that Cala repeatedly raped a boy at school between 2006 and 2010, starting when the boy was 6-years-old. According to media reports, it is the first lawsuit to allege abuse on the school grounds, and the first to accuse the church’s head pastor of explicitly knowing what was going on, however, the pastor denies the allegation.
