Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Timothy Hanson:

Mr. Timothy Hanson was a parishioner/volunteer in the Diocese of Erie. According to media reports, in 2019, he was named is in the Diocese of Erie Public Disclosure List of lay people associated who have been credibly accused of actions that, in the diocese’s judgment, disqualify that person from working with children. These actions range from corruption of minors to direct physical sexual abuse or sexual assault of minors.

In addition to being barred from work involving children in the Diocese of Erie, Hanson is prohibited from volunteer work or entering school property.  It appears that he is still welcome in other Diocese buildings, however, including churches.

The Diocese of Erie has not released any information about the allegation(s) against Hanson, including the age/gender of his victim(s), the number of allegation(s) made against him, or even the nature of the misconduct alleged.

Hanson is alive and residing in North East, Pennsylvania.
