Sarasota Massage Envy Therapist Keonte Mcknight Gets License Restricted for Sex Assault Complaint

On July 1, 2022, the Florida Department of Health (DOH) filed an Emergency Order restricting the massage therapy license of Keonte Mcknight in response to a report of sexual misconduct during a massage he performed while working at Massage Envy in SarasotaThe Order prohibits Mcknight from practicing massage therapy on female clients in the state of Florida. Mcknight just became a licensed massage therapist in Florida in February 2022. Before becoming a massage therapist, Mcknight was a certified nursing assistant in 2017, but for some reason, the license expired in 2019 even though it was issued until 2023.

According to the Department of Health’s Emergency Order, on May 3, 2022, Keonte Mcknight performed a 1-hour massage on a 63-year-old female client at Massage Envy. During the massage, Mcknight rubbed the client’s upper thigh and in the crease between her leg and groin. As he got higher up the leg, the sheet became lifted off of the client’s vagina, leaving it exposed. As he massaged, he touched her clitoris and inserted one finger inside the client’s vagina. The client immediately say up and stated, “that was really personal.” Mcknight then moved back and apologized for “invading her personal space.”

The client then ended the massage, got dressed, and reported the incident to the receptionist. Massage Envy then reported it to law enforcement. This was not Mckinght’s first brush with the law. In 2018, Mcknight was charged with a second-degree felony for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of marijuana (over 20g), but ultimately the charges were dropped. In 2019, Mcknight was charged for driving with a suspended license, yet again the charges were dropped.

Keonte Mcknight Allegedly Violated the Massage Therapist-Patient Relationship

When clients schedule a massage, it is to decompress from the stresses of life. They trust that the massage therapists employed at the spa are carefully vetted and safe to engage with the public. It is unacceptable, immoral, and unlawful for any employee to touch a client in a sexual manner.  Clients of massage therapists are placed in isolated, vulnerable settings where they can be subject to abuse by their massage therapists.

Due to the potential for abuse that is inherent under those circumstances, massage therapists must possess good judgment and good moral character in order to safely practice massage therapy. Mr. Keonte Mcknight willfully abused his position as a massage therapist to sexually violate a woman who trusted him to act professionally and within the boundaries of generally accepted massage therapy and treatment. Mr. Mcknight’s violation of the massage therapist-patient relationship indicates that he lacks the good moral character and judgment necessary to safely practice massage therapy.

According to the Department of Health’s Emergency Order, on May 12, 2022, Paul Mixon was assigned to perform a 2-hour massage on a 43-year-old female client at Massage Envy. Mr. Mixon had previously worked on the client multiple times to release stress in her pectoral muscles. During the last massage, the client laid on her back with her chest covered by a sheet.

Mixon began the massage, rubbed the patient’s jaw, and then moved to her pectorals. Upon completing the pectoral massage, Mr. Mixon pinched her nipples. Mr. Mixon moved to the client’s left side, removed the draping on her left leg, and began to massage the left leg in an upward motion. Mr. Mixon allegedly removed the draping from the client’s vaginal area and used a finger on his left hand to penetrate the client’s vagina.

The client remained silent, closed her eyes, and removed Mixon’s hand from her neck. Mr. Mixon then removed his finger from the patient’s vagina and completed the massage as if nothing happened.

After the massage ended, the victim got dressed and exited the room. On or about May 16, 2022, the victim reported Mr. Mixon’s conduct to the Sanford Police Department. Enreeka Nalasco Horowitz Law

Ex Miami Substitute Teacher Enreeka Nalasco Arrested For Giving Underage Girls Drugs for Sexual Favors

Enreeka Nalasco, a former substitute teacher in Miami/Dade, was arrested Friday, May 13, 2022, on charges including human trafficking, traveling to meet a minor, specific uses of computer services or devices prohibited, unlawful use of a communications device, and contributing to the delinquency of children. He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.

According to media reports, Miami Beach Police began the investigation into Nalasco in late March after an officer was alerted that a few female students between the ages of 11 and 14 at Nautilus Middle School in Miami Beach, were in possession of narcotics and electronic vape pens. When the police officer asked where the students could have gotten such items, they were told that they were given the drugs from a man known as “Swaggy,” whom they met on the social media app, Snapchat.

The police report stated that “Swaggy” allegedly sold the girls’ vape pens, marijuana, marijuana cards, and nicotine in exchange for sexual favors or cash as payment. They told police that Swaggy drove to deliver the goods and sexual favors at neighborhood parks and the young girls’ homes in Miami Shores.

Investigators discovered that “Swaggy” was Enreeka Nalasco, 32, a former substitute teacher at Miami Beach Senior High School. According to his arrest report, Nalasco was terminated from his teaching job back in October 2018 after he was investigated internally for inappropriately contacting a student through a social media platform.

Nalasco’s Victims

One of Nalasco’s victims is a 13-year-old girl who was suspended for having narcotics on school grounds. The girl said she bought the vape from “RealSwaggye” on Snapchat.

Another victim is a 12-year-old girl. She claims Nalasco added her on Snapchat after seeing they had mutual friends and then sold her a vape for $40. The girl said Nalasco offered other drugs and medical marijuana cards, but she blocked him on Snapchat after he told her she was pretty and that he wanted to kiss her.

Another victim, a 14-year-old girl, stated that Nalasco added her on Snapchat and sold her a vape pen for $40. She gave him her address, and when he arrived, he told her to get into his car. After she got in, he reached over and put his hand on her thigh, and told her she was pretty. The girl said she felt uncomfortable and blocked him on Snapchat.

Two other girls, 11 and 12-years-old claim that Nalasco offered to sell them narcotics in exchange for “kisses inside his vehicle.”

A 14-year-old girl said she had purchased items from Nalasco and he had expressed a sexual interest in her. On Valentine’s Day 2020, he got a hotel room for them and sent her an explicit video of him masturbating. The teen said she was offered drugs and nicotine in exchange for sexual favors, and that Nalasco drove from his home in Hollywood, FL to her home in Miami Beach to have sexual contact with her.

Another victim is a 12-year-old girl claiming Nalasco sexually battered her in Miami Shores after meeting him on Snapchat and agreeing to buy a vape pen. The girl showed police officers messages between her and Nalasco, which revealed that he also received nude photos of the girl.

A statement was released by a representative of Miami-Dade County Public Schools that read, “Miami-Dade County Public Schools is deeply disturbed by the troubling allegations made against this former employee. This individual has not been employed with M-DCPS since 2018 and is precluded from seeking future employment with this District.”

Enreeka Nalasco is just one of several South Florida teachers to face charges this year for having inappropriate actions with a student. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. Schools should always be a place where parents can trust that their children will be cared for and protected from harm.

Philip Gerald Velez Horowitz Law

Pembroke Pines Teacher Philip Velez Arrested, Admits to Sex with Student

On Sunday, January 9, 2022, Hollywood police arrested Philip Velez, a culinary arts teacher and basketball coach at Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, for allegedly having a sexual contact with a 17-year-old female student at his school. Velez, age 28, was arrested on charges of sexual assault on a minor and soliciting sexual conduct with a student while being an authority figure.

According to media reports, Philip Velez confessed to having a sex with the victim that began in December 2021. Velez admitted to Hollywood police that the two had sex multiple times and considered her his girlfriend. He also admitted that he knew it was wrong for them to be together because of the victim’s age, but they still were together because she was “almost” 18.

Velez was taken into police custody after Hollywood police were notified on Saturday by the victim’s father, who was told by his eldest daughter that the teen had been acting suspiciously over the last few weeks and that her cellphone locator showed her at an apartment complex in Hollywood. According to the arrest report, police went to the apartment unit the next day and made contact with Velez. Upon arrival, Velez admitted the teen was there at that moment and that they were in the middle of sexual intercourse when police knocked on the door.

The two were taken in for questioning and in a taped statement, the student claims that she met Velez after a school fundraiser in November and began texting back and forth before being together. She states that things got intimate a few weeks later, and she went to his Hollywood apartment several times in December, where they had sex. Velez was arrested and taken into custody.

On Monday, Velez appeared in court and the judge granted Velez an $85,000 bond. His attorney had asked for a reduced bond, arguing that the teen is less than 60 days away from being a consenting adult and that his family supports him in the matter. If Velez posts bond, he must surrender his passport and have no contact with the student or any other minor who is not a family member. He is also not permitted to return to the high school campus during the period of his release.

A spokesperson from Broward County Public Schools confirmed that Velez has worked at Flanagan High School since July 25, 2019. They also released a statement saying, “He is currently active and there’s no additional information on his status at this time.”

Philip Velez is just one of several South Florida teachers to face charges this year for having inappropriate actions with a student. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. Schools should always be a place where parents can trust that their children will be cared for and protected from harm.

Rick Torcise Horowitz Law

Homestead Youth Pastor Rick Torcise Arrested For Sex Misconduct With Teen

Rick Torcise, a youth leader and Pastor at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of Homestead, Florida, was arrested Tuesday, November 16, 2021, after claims were made that he repeatedly molested a teenage boy from his church. Torcise, age 67, entered a not guilty plea and was sentenced to a first-degree felony sexual battery charge. Torcise was released on a $10,000 bond, and the judge ordered him to stay away from the victim and any other minors.  Detectives fear Torcise may have sexually abused other minors who Torcise met as youth pastor and through a youth baseball league in which he was invovled.

The arrest report states that the 17-year-old victim said he engaged in sexual acts with Ricky Torcise from June to October of this year.  The boy told Miami-Dade police officers that he met Torcise at his church in June and that Torcise hired him to help out on his farm. The victim claims that he was groomed for several months while working on the farm. Finally, the teen confided to his father that Torcise repeatedly molested him and intimidated him into performing sexual acts in October. When they reported it to the Miami-Dade police, the victim stated that Torcise allegedly fondled him, rubbed his hands over the boy’s thighs and buttocks over his clothing several times, and forced him to give and receive oral sex with him. The boy claimed he did so out of fear.

Detectives and the boy’s attorney fear that Torcise could have groomed and abused many other boys over the years, as he hired dozens to work on his farm. Detective Argemis Colome, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department, commented, “This is a person that the community trusts; this is a person that parents trust to guide their children. We’re asking anybody that may have had any interaction with this individual … this is the time to give us a call. We’re very fortunate that they came forward, which is why it’s very important to have that open line of communication with our children, so they can trust us in telling us when these situations are happening.”

Torcise is a title trustee of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of Homestead, a youth leader, farmer, and businessman. He was also the manager of Florida Legends Baseball. Torcise’s arraignment is set for December 16.

Torcise is just one of many authority figures to face charges this year for having inappropriate actions with a minor. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. On November 5, a second student reported to the school’s resource officer that she was molested by Calderon during a math tutoring class. The 16-year-old victim claims that Calderon also touched her on two separate occasions while she was in Calderon’s class seeking extra credit for math class.

Hamid, age 27, was taken into custody, and then charged with three felony counts, including offenses against students by authority figures and unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor.

According to media reports, an investigation began in October 2021, after Hamid was accused of inappropriate behavior with a student. At the start of the Covid pandemic, the then 16-year-old alleged victim was a junior in Hamid’s advanced placement history class, which she attended via Zoom.

According to police reports, Hamid and his student began communicating using the Remind App Communication platform and exchanged phone numbers. The student told police that Hamid would often pick her up and that sexual activity took place in his car or at his Cutler Bay home while he was still her teacher. The report stated that the student’s best friend notified a school staff member in October that an inappropriate relationship was going on and the police were then contacted.

Pregnant Doral Teacher Heiry Calvi Arrested for Having Sex With Underage Student

Heiry Calvi, a 41-year-old teacher at John I. Smith K-8 Center in Doral, Florida was arrested on October 8, 2021, after facing accusations of having unlawful sexual contact with a 15-year-old male student.

According to police records, Doral police began their investigation back in March 2021, when they received a complaint from the Department of Children and Families that a teacher was having intercourse with an underage student who attended John I. Smith K-8 Center, located at 10415 NW 52nd St, Doral, FL 33178.

Multiple students had reported to faculty members that the boy was showing off videos of himself and Calvi having sex. The school reported it to the appropriate authorities and Doral Police got permission to search the 15-year-old’s cellphone. The report states that detectives found photos of the teen naked with Calvi, along with text messages between the two, expressing their love for each other. The student and teacher first became close when Calvi began tutoring him at his house in late 2020.

“There were photographs that were certainly inappropriate, that indicate that there was in fact an inappropriate relationship,” said Doral Police spokesperson Rey Valdes. Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials said she was removed from the classroom and put her on administrative duties where she had no contact with students immediately after the school learned about the allegations in March, but wasn’t arrested until now.  It has been confirmed that the married teacher is in fact pregnant, but no published reports at this time on the identity of the father. Calvi declined to comment on the allegations.

Calvi was charged with two felony charges including lewd and lascivious battery and electronic transmission harmful to minors. She was also in possession of a firearm on school property. She was released on bond.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools released the following statement regarding the arrest:
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is disturbed by today’s arrest involving inappropriate employee behavior. When the District was apprised of these allegations in March, the employee was immediately reassigned to a non-school site location. The District will begin employment termination proceedings and will ensure the individual is prevented from seeking future employment with this school system. M-DCPS will continue to review its employee training to ensure that our workforce is fully aware of the District’s professional expectations of them and their ethical obligation to safeguard children.”

Calvi is the third South Florida teacher to face charges this week for having inappropriate actions with a student. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. Schools should always be a place where parents can trust that their children will be cared for and protected from harm.
