Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Roland St. Pierre:
A lawsuit was filed in April 2021 in the state Supreme Court in St. Lawrence County, NY, against the Diocese of Ogdensburg and St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh, NY. The suit alleges that Fr. Roland H. St. Pierre, along with Fr. Joseph A. Conti, sexually abused a four-year-old boy beginning in 1968 and continuing into the early1970s.
According to a story published by the Plattsburgh Press-Republican in 2010, Father St. Pierre, served as the mayor of Plattsburgh from 1972-1977. He was the first Catholic priest elected mayor of a U.S. city.
Fr. St. Pierre died in 2010 at the age of 83.
